As a San Francisco, CA cosmetic dentist we help our patients to get the smile that they have been longing for. Whether you have teeth that are crooked, have gaps in between them, they are the wrong size or shape, stained or damaged - we can correct these problems using either dental veneers or Lumineers. Both are viable options and will do wonders to improve the appearance of your smile. To learn more about these solutions, or find out which one is right for you, call (415) 493-9143 and schedule an appointment with our San Francisco office.

Porcelain veneers and Lumineers both look incredibly natural. They are designed to mirror the shape and size and shade of your natural teeth. Dental veneers replace the enamel on the surface of your teeth. This way, when you smile all that you can see are the porcelain veneers or natural looking Lumineers. For this reason, many Hollywood stars use porcelain veneers to give them their red-carpet smile.

At Aesthetic Dentistry of Noe Valley, we tell patients that the biggest difference between these two solutions is that Lumineers are incredibly thin. In fact, they are so thin that they resemble the size of a contact lens. This means that they can be bonded to the surface of your teeth without having to remove any of your natural enamel. On the other hand, porcelain veneers require us to remove some of your enamel so that they can lay flat and not make your teeth appear overly large. This makes porcelain veneers a permanent solution where Lumineers can be added or removed at your leisure.  Simultaneously, Lumineers tend to be more comfortable to place.
