Porcelain Restoration Benefits

At Aesthetic Dentistry of Noe Valley, we offer a variety of dental restoration solutions to our San Francisco, California patients. We regularly recommend porcelain restorations because of their natural appearance. With porcelain veneers or dental crowns we can alter the actual shading on the restoration to mirror what happens in real life. Typically people do not have a flat, one shade tooth. Instead, our teeth tend to darken at the roots and gradually become lighter as we head towards the tip of the teeth. Traditional dental veneers and dental crowns, while they look beautiful and white, tend not to look as natural because of that flat and singular appearance. Porcelain restorations are different because of our ability to truly customize the visual aesthetics of the solution. This is why so many of our San Francisco patients are visiting our office for porcelain restorations either for the first time or to replace their existing ceramic ones. If you are in need of a dental restoration and live in the 94114 area, we encourage you to call (415) 493-9143 and schedule an appointment to see how our porcelain restorations can give you a brilliantly beautiful smile.

What are dental veneers?

As a San Francisco cosmetic dentist, we place dental veneers on a regular basis. Dental veneers are a thin piece of porcelain that is bonded to the surface of your teeth. They are designed to essentially replace your natural enamel; so before we can place them we will need to remove some of the enamel you have in place. Since we are a CEREC Dentistry office we can do this and have your dental veneers created in one visit to our dental office. This will allow us to do things like transform the appearance of your teeth by closing gaps, changing their shape and size, covering dark stains, and even making your teeth appear straight. Dental veneers are incredibly versatile both for cosmetic purposes and as a dental restoration.

Why would I need dental crowns?

We recommend dental crowns when our 94114 patients have suffered significant damage to their teeth. If a portion of your enamel is missing due to an accident, an infection, or decay, you will need a durable and natural-looking restoration. This is what you will receive with dental crowns. Since crowns surround the visible portion of your teeth, any time you bite down your actual tooth will not be touched. This makes it possible for us to save a tooth that may otherwise have needed to be extracted due to the significance of the damage it has suffered. Instead, we can simply provide you with natural-looking dental crowns so that your smile will be both intact and beautiful.

How can I replace my missing teeth?

If you have lost one or several of your teeth it is important to replace them as quickly as possible. At Aesthetic Dentistry of Noe Valley, we regularly recommend that our patients do so with dental bridges. Instead of wearing loose fitting dentures that could slip out of place when eating and need to be removed on a nightly basis, we can provide you with dental bridges that look natural and remain in place regardless of what you were eating or what activities you are engaged in it. If you like to run marathons or bite into a big juicy hamburger, dental bridges will provide you with the confidence you need to enjoy your normal daily activities knowing that your new teeth will remain secure.
