Before we begin with any cosmetic work, we will examine and clean the patient's teeth. It does not matter how straight or white your teeth are if they are infected. It is critical that your teeth are healthy prior to any procedure we perform. If the teeth are not healthy, then you will be at risk of getting a toothache, having your gums swell, having the gums bleed and even losing your teeth. This is entirely avoidable by practicing good oral hygiene and having your teeth cleaned on a regular basis.

Teeth Whitening

Once your teeth are healthy and clean, we can begin your smile makeover. Typically, the first thing we suggest doing is whitening your teeth. A teeth whitening procedure is fast, easy and affordable. Not only is the impact dramatic, some people feel like they do not need any other treatments immediately after a teeth whitening procedure. If you decide for something like a dental veneer, crown or implant, the material we use to create them will be both stain and bleach resistant. While this is excellent in the long-term, it means that your new tooth would be made to match the old ones. If they are yellow, your veneer would be yellow, if they are white, your veneer would be white. The exception to this is if you are having veneers placed on all of the teeth that you can see, instead of using it to correct one crooked tooth. In that case, your veneers would cover all of your stained and yellow teeth so how white they were or were not, it would not make a difference.

Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures

Next, we will determine what issues you have that you also wish to correct, such as closing gaps in between your teeth, covering severely dark stains, straightening teeth, changing their shape and size, or even making adjustments to your gums. All of this is possible when you have a smile makeover. There are few, if any, challenges that we cannot correct and once done, you will be ready for that job interview.
